144 (one hundred forty-four in American English; written and spoken as one hundred and forty-four in British English and other English forms) is the natural number following 143 and preceding 145 (144 is also CXLIV, or one gross, being the square of one dozen). It is the twelfth Fibonacci number, and the largest one to also be a square.
